Validity
In the process of validation the emphasis has so far been placed on what may be called diagnostic validity, that is, the extent to which an instrument gives an adequate description of a certain situation, of certain behaviour and the like. The PLUS Style analysis is chiefly an aid to shedding light on the situation of an individual and a starting point for a discussion of the interviewee's way of working. With the help of the instrument, the interviewee "paints" a picture of his work situation - a picture, which later forms the basis of a dialogue between the person in question and the person in charge of the analysis.
Content validity cannot be measured quantitatively but may only be assessed in relation to the model or theory that the instrument builds on.
